Lab data
Gelato 45 potency: THC, CBD and terpenes from 53 lab tests
In only 53 state lab tests, a small sample, Gelato 45 flower had a median total THC of 19.65%, with the middle half of results between 18.12% and 21.26%.1 CBD is negligible, and in the 10 tests with individual terpene values, all from Nevada, limonene leads.1
Small sample: only 53 matched tests. Treat the figures on this page as indicative, not definitive.1

THC by year
Too few tests per year to show a trend: no year has 20 or more tests (2019: 2, 2020: 6, 2021: 19, 2022: 16, 2023: 9).1
THC by state
| State | Tests | Median THC |
|---|---|---|
| Michigan | 35 | 19.15% |
| Nevada | 10 | 21.27% |
States with at least 10 tests. Labs, testing rules and sampling differ by state, so compare states with care.1

How published THC figures compare
Strain databases disagree: Leafly lists 19% THC, AllBud 23–26% and Weedmaps 25–27%.2,3,4 Neither seed seller publishes a THC figure for its version.5,6,7 In our small lab sample, 90% of Gelato 45 flower tested below 22.90%, under the bottom of AllBud’s range, and the highest single result was 26.70%; Leafly’s 19% is within a point of our median of 19.65%.1,2
By state, medians ran from 19.15% in Michigan (35 tests) to 21.27% in Nevada (10).1 Terpenes come from a different subset: the 10 tests with individual values are all from Nevada, and their top three by median are limonene 0.35%, β-caryophyllene 0.28%, linalool 0.18%. Leafly lists caryophyllene as the dominant terpene, with limonene and humulene.1,2

Limits of this data
- Coverage is thin and dated. Michigan (35), Nevada (10), Washington (5), California (3) supply all 53 tests, dated 2019–2023 (1 undated), and 35 of them come from 2021–2022. Oregon and Rhode Island results carry no product names and could not be matched.
- Washington tests count only when the strain field and the product name both name the strain; 53 Washington flower results that named Gelato 45 only in the strain field, under a generic product name, were left out.
- Some labs report higher THC than others, so we publish medians and middle ranges rather than maxima. One lab supplied 26.4% of these tests (11 labs in total).
- Terpene figures rest on only 10 tests, all from Nevada; Michigan and Washington labs report no terpenes. We matched names strictly: 8 results under near-miss names such as “London Pound Cake × Gelato 45” are excluded, and products labelled Gelato 33 or Gelato 41 are counted as Gelato, not here.
