Sherbet, also sold as Sunset Sherbet or Sunset Sherbert, is one of Gelato 45’s parents: an indica-dominant GSC × Pink Panties cross by Mr. Sherbinski, made to produce the pollen behind the Gelato seeds.1,2 It tests about the same in state labs: 20.52% median THC across 768 tests, against 19.65% for Gelato 45 from only 53 tests, a small sample.3

The mother plant

Leafly’s history says Sunset Sherbert itself began as an accident in 2012, when a young Pink Panties male pollinated a room of GSC, and that Mr. Sherbinski took the name from a rainbow sherbet that was a California childhood flavor.2 In September 2026 Sherbert was the top-selling strain in Montana, and Sunset Sherbet was California’s #7 flower strain of 2025.8,9 Sherbet has its own guide in the Official Cannabis network at sherbetstrain.com.
